5 Limes was tasked with generating Office documents as part of a workflow within SharePoint. The generation of these documents was both automatic and manual in execution.
The integration with the Microsoft Word application was achieved by custom code which utilised the Merge field capabilities of Microsoft Word to produce a unified document. The integration with Microsoft Excel utilised Open Office XML in order to produce spreadsheets incorporating pivot charts from a template.
Templates of both documents are stored within a SharePoint list which results in better maintenance and updating of changes requested by the client. Documents created from these templates were then stored and associated with the particular SharePoint document.
5 Limes has also developed add-ins for Microsoft Outlook that allows for the association of any email or calendar item with any particular item within SharePoint.
