An easy to use users interface
Umbraco is incredibly easy to use, its designed to be as simple as possible, based on well-known interface metaphors and with a minimum of visual noise. The focus is your content, not the Umbraco CMS. Your users are provided with your site’s pages in a tree view, just like in Windows Explorer and Mac’s Finder. To create new content pages you just right-click the parent page or simply click the big Create button that’s always visible. To edit a page’s content simply select that page in the tree view. When you’re done, click Save (to save a draft) or Publish (to make the changes visible for website visitors).
Umbraco versions
Umbraco is available under two different licensing schemes to meet your needs; an open source version that is completely free, and a commercial version that includes a license fee and ongoing support.
The free open source version is the complete Umbraco product, with no limitations on functionality or use. You are free to use Umbraco for just about any commercial or non-commercial project you can think of. At the same time, you are provided with the original source code, so that you can see what makes the cogs turn, and even tweak it further.
The commercial version provides a bundle of tools and support that make it even easier to use in commercial environments and greatly eases the whole implementation process. Umbraco Pro includes a suite of tools, as well as optional support and architectural consulting services and can be licensed per site or per server, with an optional yearly maintenance.
